About the Cable Car
The Puerto Plata Cable Car is one of the most impressive attractions in the Caribbean. Opened in 1975, it was the first cable car in the Caribbean and remains one of the most spectacular in the region.
The ride lasts about 10 minutes and covers 800 meters, ascending from the base station in the city to the top of Isabel de Torres Peak, at 793 meters above sea level.
At the top you’ll find a full park with the famous Christ the Redeemer (a replica of the Rio de Janeiro statue), tropical gardens, nature trails, and a 360° panoramic view of Puerto Plata and the Atlantic Ocean.
